Saturday 20 September: Breadmaking for Resilience
Saturday 20 September, Larch Room at Errington’s Barn
Join us for a family-friendly day celebrating bread, farming, and resilience. Together with Black Mount Community Development Trust, we’ll explore the journey from grain to loaf, with plenty of hands-on opportunities along the way.
Talks with Angus from Mungoswells: Learn about growing and milling grain in Scotland. Two short sessions at 11am and 11.30am (booking required, max 14 per session).
Breadmaking workshops: Get stuck in with dough, learn simple breadmaking techniques, and take home something to bake. Drop-in sessions from 9.30–10.30am and 12.30–1.30pm. No booking required.
Family activities: Kids can get hands-on with oats, wheat, and flour, exploring the textures and learning where their food comes from.
This event is part of the Lanarkshire Climate Festival and highlights the importance of local food, farming, and community skills in building resilience.
Free to attend, but spaces for talks must be booked in advance. Adults must accompany children at all times.
